Patients Love the ARTAS Transplant Robot, Announces Hair Transplant Institute of Miami

There are fewer than 20 ARTAS Systems in the United States; most recently, the highly advanced hair transplant robot has found a new home at the Hair Transplant Institute of Miami, located in the Offices of Merrick Park.

As co-creator of the Follicular Isolation Technique (FIT) and inventor of the ‘ledge’ trichophytic closure, Dr. Rose is a noteworthy contributor to the study, science, and aesthetic development of hair restoration.

For patients who are wary with the idea of a robotic medical device being used during their transplant procedure, Dr. Rose is quick to offer an important word of encouragement: The ARTAS is a physician-guided. A licensed and highly skilled surgeon conducts the procedure, and at no point is the patient left alone.

Using high resolution imagery, the ARTAS calculates the orientation of prospective donor hair follicles up to 50 times each second. This enables surgeons to harvest specific donor follicles while minimizing trauma to the scalp.

As a result, transplanted hair grows in an all-natural and healthy fashion, and patients experience faster turnaround time.

And since ARTAS harvests donor hair via follicular unit extraction (FUE), patients may wear their hair as short as they like without ever having to worry about hiding a post-procedure linear scar.
