Hair Club Offers Hair Loss Solutions as Title Sponsor of the 17th Annual TLC Conference

The event was founded by the Trichotillomania Learning Center

April 2010

For the 7th consecutive year, Hair Club, is the proud Title Sponsor of the TLC Conference, which will take place in Dallas, Texas April 23rd through 25th.

The event was founded by the Trichotillomania Learning Center, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the quality of life of children, adolescents and adults with Trichotillomania and other body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRB).

Trichotillomania (also referred to as TTM or "trich") is an impulse control disorder that causes people to pull out the hair from their scalp, eyelashes, eyebrows, pubic area, underarms, beard, chest, legs or other parts of the body, resulting in noticeable bald patches.

"We're excited to partner with TLC again this year. The Conference is designed to educate and support trich sufferers and their families," Michele Graves, VP of Human Resources for Hair Club said. "It's a perfect venue for people to come together, learn new things, see old friends, and meet new ones."

The Conference is now in its 17th year, and offers a tremendous resource for those who suffer from Trichotillomania, as well as supplying information for friends and family members about hair loss solutions. Attendees will have the opportunity to discover the latest hair loss research findings, take part in esteem-building workshops (for adults and kids) and realize they're not alone.

The Conference offers over 50 workshops addressing issues related to hair pulling, skin picking, and other behaviors for adults, children and adolescents, and an opportunity to meet with solution providers, such as Hair Club.

Hair Club offers personalized hair loss solutions to men and women, as well as children, and allows visitors a chance to learn about the latest hair loss advancements, products, and the opportunity to touch and feel actual hair samples. Hair Club's experts will be out in force during the three-day event at the DFW Airport Marriott Hotel, and offer information, support, presentations, and product samples.

On Saturday night, Hair Club will sponsor a Texas-style dinner as well as a raffle in which tickets will be given away for a trip to Disney World. Silent Auction raffle winners will be announced during the dinner. The winner of the raffle will receive roundtrip airfare for two to Orlando, hotel accommodations for three nights, two 2-day Park Hopper passes and a $500 American Express gift card.

Hair Club's program, Hair Club for Kids, is a program for kids with hair loss, many of whom will be in attendance at the Conference. Hair Club for Kids provides free hair loss solutions for qualifying children between the ages of 7 and 17 who are battling hair loss as a result of illness. Two Hair Club for Kids clients, 10 year old Max from Des Moines, Iowa and 14 year old Claire from Calgary, will be in attendance and speak briefly during the dinner.

"We're really excited to have two young people with us to tell their stories of how trich has affected them," Graves said. "They're very brave and will speak briefly to an audience who suffer from similar disorders."

The 17th Annual National Conference takes place April 23rd through 25th in Dallas.

Hair Club is the largest company in the hair restoration and hair replacement industry, with more than 95 locations throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
